Congrats to Mutt Smith and his Very Nice 8 Pointer !! 9-18-07
Carrie Poling took this 4 Pointer from A Ladder Stand in Edgecombe County using her 270 Win from about 60 yards. He should have know better than to step in front of Carrie.
Saturday morning after using a grunt call, this buck came running. Only problem was he was being chased by some silent running house dogs. I gave him a mouth grunt (like they do on the Primos hunting show) to stop him so I could get a good shot. Apparently he had never seen the show and did not know he was supposed to stop. After a couple of shots and a U-turn he was about 50 yards from the stand. He was a 7 pointer 18 inches wide.
Ya just have to know where the Big ones are !!!
We were deer hunting on my uncles farm near Littleton. He had just taken a dog to the vet that had been in a fight with what the vet believed to be a bobcat. He had asked us to try to take care of any bobcats we saw. After being in the stand maybe an hour I saw a bobcat step out of the woods about 100 yards from my stand. As I raised my rifle (Remington 300 magnum) I noticed two more following the first cat. I started thinking to myself, I am going to try and get 2 out of 3. I let the first one get almost all the way across the pasture so I would have more time to get a shot off at the other 2. The first shot was on the money, the second was a miss but #3 and #4 also found their target. Morale of the story its better to be lucky than good anyday. Including these cats we have killed 5 within 100 yards of this stand. Two of which me and dad had mounted. They weighed over 30 pounds each.
I took this buck on the afternoon of October 15 with my Bow Tech. I took the shot at approximately twenty yards as the buck was started to eat at the edge of a food plot. The old buck don’t move once the Eason arrow with 100 gain broad head slammed into shoulder.
He weighed in at 203 and scored just over 127”.
Thanks everybody at Shooter’s.

One 11-10-07 Wayne was Hunting in North Hampton County at the Red "F" Hunt Club. This would be one of many times Wayne spent all day looking for the Buck of a Lifetime. A few Grunts from his favorite Grunt call followed by a Flextone Bleat brought this Very Nice 10 Pointer out of the woods. Wayne took aim with his Remington 7mm Mag and leveled the crossed hairs and fired. The bullet found its mark right behind the shoulder and sent the buck staggering back in the woods. After walking the 175 plus yard to where the buck was standing, Wayne walked in the woods about 15 yards finding that Buck of a Lifetime.

I was hunting my new cadilac climbing stand on the edge of a bean field and new cut over with hardwoods on either side. I used my Primos Buck Roar call and about 5 minutes later a big 6 came out and I then I hit my Mad Calls bleat can to see what kind of reaction that I could get out of him. He walked within 50 yards of me and went into the hardwoods after looking around for a hot doe. Less than 5 minutes after he went in I looked to my left and the 8 pointer stepped out onto a lane that seperated the cut over from the grown up brush along the edge of the field. When I saw him I through up my 243 rifle and dropped him from around 75 yards.

This was my first nice Buck taken with a Mathews Switchback XT. Hunting over soybeans on a windy friday afternoon at 6:15PM, I caught this Buck sneaking out of woods to feed. A Rage 3 Blade broadhead hit just behind the front shoulder and brought this 8 Pointer crashing down 50 yrds from lock-on stand.
This very nice buck was taken from a ladder stand overlooking a soy bean field about 7:15PM. When the Buck was about 14 yards, Mutt fired a perfectly placed Rage 2 Blade broadhead from a Mathews Drenalin bow and brought this 204 lbs, approx 17" wide Buck to a crash 60 yrds from stand.
